How Edelvor Works

Edelvor is Australia’s specialist engineering search, where clients find named engineers and firms showcase the people who do the work. Transparent, accountable, merit-based.

For Clients

Find the right engineer, not just the right firm

Traditional procurement focuses on firms. Edelvor is a specialist engineering search: you describe your project, we find and approach the right engineer for it, and you review the shortlist of Edelvor profiles we send you.

01

Describe your project

Tell Edelvor the project and the engineering expertise it needs. The more detail you give, the better we can match the right specialist.

02

We search the market

Edelvor finds and approaches the right named engineers and the firms behind them. You don't trawl a directory, we do the search and bring you the matches.

03

Shortlist

We send you the Edelvor profiles of the candidates who fit, with their track records, so you can review them yourself.

04

Named involvement, contractually committed.

When you engage through Edelvor, the firm commits in writing to the named engineer at the level you agreed (hands-on, oversight, or advisory). If actual involvement doesn't match what was agreed, you can flag it from your dashboard and it affects the firm's standing.

For Engineers

Your career, in one portable record

Edelvor is a career vault for working engineers. Keep your full history, qualifications, case studies, and reviews in one place, independent of any single employer.

01

Build your career vault

Your profile holds employment history, qualifications, registrations, case studies, software, standards, key clients, and awards. A complete record you can search against, export, and carry between firms.

02

Portable, exportable, yours

Your reviews, project history, and CV are attached to you, not your current firm. Export a polished PDF, HTML, or Markdown CV at any time. Share case studies to LinkedIn. Decide which sections of your profile are public from the privacy dashboard. Change jobs and your reputation travels with you. Only the firm affiliation changes.

03

Earn recognition

Get recognised by your firm as Endorsed and become more visible to clients looking for your expertise. Endorsed profiles are put forward first when Edelvor matches client requests. Recognition is firm-granted. You do the work, your firm puts you forward.

04

Earn status

Collect reviews from completed engagements. Endorsed status is granted by your firm and signals a complete, firm-backed profile. Edelvor Verified is a free, admin-awarded badge that stacks on it.

For Engineering Firms

Showcase your people, win work on merit

Recognise your high performers as Endorsed, build their public track records, and receive enquiries from clients who already know who they want to work with. Endorsed status is firm-backed, visible to clients on the profile, and puts your people forward first when we match requests.

Billing: listing your team is free, and each Endorsed individual is A$15 per month. See the pricing page for the rate card.

01

Create your firm profile

Sign up as a firm administrator, add your firm details, logo, and the sectors you operate in. This becomes your firm's public presence on the platform.

02

Add your engineers

Build profiles for your key people, their disciplines, sector experience, project history, and availability. They can manage their own availability and bio.

03

Get put forward for the right projects

When a client's project matches, Edelvor puts your engineers forward and sends the client their Edelvor profiles, with the involvement level the brief calls for.

04

Win work on merit

When a client engages one of your people, confirm their involvement in writing and build a public track record that generates future leads. Reviews from completed engagements inform rankings and Endorsed / Verified decisions.

Badges on Edelvor

Endorsed and Verified

Two badges a profile can carry. A profile with neither is simply firm-listed or independent, and is still considered for every matching request.

Endorsed

Firm-backed, complete profiles. Teal badge.

Granted when a firm vouches for the engineer and pays the A$15 seat. Put forward ahead of unendorsed profiles when we match client requests.

Edelvor Verified

A free, independently reviewed badge that stacks on any tier.

Awarded by Edelvor at its discretion after review. Increases discoverability and client trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Edelvor

What does it cost clients to use Edelvor?+
Describing your project and using Edelvor to find an engineer is completely free for clients. Engineers never pay either. Firms pay one flat rate, A$15 per Endorsed individual per month, and that's how the platform is funded. See the pricing page for details.
What's free and what's paid?+
Clients and engineers never pay. Firms list their team for free, with no limit, and every profile is considered when Edelvor matches a client request. Firms pay A$15 per month for each individual they choose to Endorse. Endorsed individuals are given preference when we select who to put forward and carry the Endorsed badge on their profile.
How is Edelvor different from LinkedIn or hiring a recruiter?+
LinkedIn is a professional network, where people list themselves and recruiters contact them. Edelvor is Australia's specialist engineering search, where firms put forward named engineers and commit in writing to that individual's involvement. You are not hiring the person, you are engaging the firm to deliver the work, with a contractual commitment on who does it. A recruiter places people into roles. Edelvor matches clients to specific named engineers for specific projects, with the firm in the loop throughout.
What does Endorsed mean?+
Endorsed is a firm-granted status. The firm publicly stands behind the engineer, lists them on Edelvor, and pays the seat. Endorsed engineers are put forward first when we match client requests. It stacks with Edelvor Verified, a free badge Edelvor awards after an independent review. A profile with no badge is simply firm-listed or independent, and is still considered for every matching request.
How is involvement guaranteed?+
When you engage through Edelvor, the firm commits to the named engineer's involvement at the level you agreed (hands-on, oversight, or advisory). It's a written commitment in the scope of work, not just a verbal promise. If actual involvement doesn't match what was agreed, the client can flag it from their dashboard and it affects the firm's standing.
What happens if the named engineer becomes unavailable mid-project?+
Any substitution should require your written consent. Edelvor's contractual-involvement guidance recommends a substitution clause in every engagement letter: if the named individual becomes unavailable, the substitute requires your written consent, and you can walk away without penalty if the substitute does not meet your engagement bar. This sits in the engagement letter you sign with the firm.
Do I need an account to use Edelvor as a client?+
No. Describing your project through Find an engineer needs no account. A free account is optional and lets you track your requests and the firms we approach on your behalf. Sign-up takes under a minute, by email or Google.
What happens if Edelvor can't find anyone suitable?+
We tell you. Specialist briefs are narrow, and a search can come back with no suitable candidates. If that happens we say so rather than leave you waiting, and you've lost nothing: requests are free for clients with no obligation. You can refine the brief and ask again at any time.
How long until I hear back after sending a project brief?+
Once Edelvor approaches the matching firms, most respond within a few business days. If you haven't heard back, contact admin@edelvor.com via the contact form and we'll follow up with the firm.
Can I ask for an engineer who shows as 'Conditional'?+
Yes. Conditional availability means the engineer is open to the right project, with constraints such as a minimum engagement size, specific timelines, or sector preferences. Mention your needs in the brief and the firm will let you know if it's a fit.
How are profiles and reviews verified?+
Reviews are gated on a completed engagement through Edelvor: the admin team confirms the reviewer was a genuine client, and the engineer approves each one in their dashboard. Qualifications and registrations are self-declarations on the profile, and firms vouch for their listed engineers through the Endorsed grant. Aggregate public review display is enabled at Edelvor's discretion. Until then, reviews stay private to the engineer and platform administrators.
How does Edelvor protect against poaching?+
Edelvor never shares a team member's direct contact details with clients. Firm admins control what's visible on the public firm and team-member pages from /dashboard/settings/privacy: which contact channels show (phone, email, address, website), and whether the team-member list is fully public, Endorsed-only, or admin-only. The conservative defaults (manual release of contact details) match current platform behaviour and protect against recruiter back-doors.
What happens if the engineer isn't involved as promised?+
Edelvor takes involvement guarantees seriously. If actual involvement doesn't match what was agreed, the client can flag it through the platform. This is reflected in the engineer's track record and affects their standing.
I'm a firm, how do I get my people listed?+
Sign up as a firm administrator, add your firm details, and add your team members as profiles. They can manage their own availability, bios, case studies, and CV content. Listing your team is free. You pay only for the individuals you choose to Endorse.
I'm an independent engineer, can I join?+
Yes. Engineers without a firm can list themselves directly and be put forward for matching client projects. Your career history, case studies, qualifications, and reviews all live on your profile and travel with you if you later join a firm.
Can engineers move between firms?+
Yes. Reputation is portable. Project history, reviews, case studies, qualifications, and CV stay with the engineer if they move firms. Only the firm affiliation changes.
Can I download my CV?+
Yes. From your dashboard you can export your full career record (employment history, qualifications, registrations, software, standards, clients, case studies, awards) as a PDF, HTML, or Markdown document.
How do you handle my data and privacy?+
Edelvor has a full privacy dashboard where you control what's visible on your profile, export all your data, or request account deletion at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
How do I sign in?+
You can sign in with email and password, or with Google or LinkedIn. Signing in with LinkedIn makes it quick to import your existing career details.
What disciplines and sectors are supported?+
Edelvor covers all engineering disciplines, Australia wide: structural, civil, geotechnical, mechanical, pressure equipment and integrity, piping, numerical simulation (CFD, FEA, DEM), forensic, electrical, chemical and process, fire safety, mining, metallurgical, and more. Sectors are tagged on every profile and used when we match client requests.

Built on transparency

Every review is linked to a real engagement. Every involvement commitment is written into the scope of work. Edelvor exists to make engineering accountable.
