What the badges mean
A glossary of the chips and terms you'll see on profile cards and profile pages. Each one is a status signal, not a ranking.
The chips below describe a profile’s current status and can change as circumstances change.
A note on no-chip profiles.
Not every profile carries a chip. The absence of a chip isn’t a negative signal. It just means the engineer is listed by their firm, where the firm logo on the card is the identifier, or listed independently without a firm. Both are considered when we match client requests.
Status badges
Endorsed (a firm-backed, complete profile)
The paid tier for engineers a firm lists publicly on Edelvor. Complete, firm-backed profile. Deep teal chip. Granted when a firm vouches for the engineer and pays the seat. Put forward ahead of unendorsed profiles when we match client requests.
Edelvor Verified
An independently reviewed badge that Edelvor awards at its discretion. It's free, you don't apply or pay for it. Edelvor grants it after reviewing an engineer's record, and it stacks on top of Endorsed or a free listing. It increases discoverability and client trust, and sits next to any tier chip on a profile.
How Edelvor Verified is awarded
Verified is granted by Edelvor at its discretion after an independent review of an engineer’s record. It’s free, there’s nothing to apply or pay for.
Availability status
The engineer is open to new work right now. Mention your timing in the project brief and we'll factor it in.
The engineer is taking on work but with constraints, typically only certain project types, geographies, or time frames. The profile note has the specifics.
The engineer isn't accepting new work at the moment. You can still save the profile, and their availability may change.
Terminology
- Endorsed
- The paid tier for engineers a firm lists publicly. Firms are billed per Endorsed engineer listed. The firm vouches for the engineer’s work and covers the seat subscription.
- Edelvor Verified
- A free, stackable badge on top of Endorsed or a free listing. Awarded by Edelvor at its discretion after an independent review. Not something you apply or pay for.
